Hey there! My name is Taylor and I am a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and a certified Level 1 Restorative Wellness Practitioner in The Art & Science of Gastrointestinal Healing. I’m a huge fan of croissants and I love exploring new cities and quirky coffee shops.
My Story
I never thought about what I put into my body until after my freshman year of college. As a DI athlete, I wanted to increase my performance on the field, so I read all I could about nutrition from Pinterest and magazines. Everything I read told me I wasn’t good enough — I needed to change my body and eat low fat, low-carb, avoid, deprive, and fear.
I was SO confused about what I should eat. When I couldn’t follow the rules of the diets I tried, I felt like a failure. I had such an unhealthy relationship with food and my body.
I decided to go back to school to learn a holistic approach to nutrition and it was one of the best decisions I ever made!
I couldn’t wait to share with my clients all that I had learned about nutrition and the physiology of the human body. I healed my relationship with food when I learned to eat foods that worked for ME and my body — I didn’t need to follow some cookie-cutter diet and feel guilty about straying from strict guidelines.
Nutritional Therapy looks at nutrition as a way to support the optimal functioning of the body. I help my clients get to the root cause of their symptoms in order to support the body’s innate ability to heal itself.
Why I focus on digestion + stress/anxiety relief
I mainly focus on digestive issues and supporting the body + mind during times of stress and anxiety with my clients because I’ve personally lived it.
I experienced a traumatic break up. Within three years, I lost three grandparents and then my mom suddenly passed away from an aneurysm. I developed digestive issues and starting having panic attacks — things I never dealt with before in my life.
From all of this, I experienced massive personal growth. I learned how to support my body when life stressors and grief affected my ability to sleep, digest food, and feel calm and grounded. I began meditating and learned how use my breath to calm my mind when my anxiety became too much.
It is my mission to share the knowledge I’ve gained with those who feel as helpless as I once did around food, anxiety, stress, and grief. To learn more about how I can support you on your own journey, click the button below. I can’t wait to chat!
